About the role
The Habitat Conservation Technician helps protect some of the University’s most sensitive and valuable resources—its tree canopy.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the health and safety of Texas State University’s tree canopy.
- Perform hazard and risk assessments for both pedestrian traffic and property.
- Maintain the tree inventory, identifying replacement needs as trees are removed for construction, health, or risk.
- Research, design, plan, and perform duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of invasive species using various disciplines and industry-accepted best management practices.
- Sustainably improve, manage, and protect Texas State University’s landscape natural resources to create a comfortable and safe environment in which to learn.
