Gymnastics Instructor

About the role

The Manchester YMCA is currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic part time gymnastics instructor to lead Parent & Child Gymnastics classes. The coach will be responsible for running practices, teaching basic gymnastics skills, and fostering growth in coordination, flexibility, strength, and confidence in young children.

Duties

• Help develop and implement a safe and enjoyable gymnastics program
• Be available to work weekday evenings and weekends to help facilitate gymnastics practices, games and clinics
• Create lesson plans for youth ages 5-11
• Purchase necessary materials
• Provide leadership to other gymnastics staff

Qualifications

• Basic gymnastics knowledge and experience
• Ability to instruct and spot school age children in basic gymnastics skills
• Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation
• Experience working with children and with gymnastics and/or movement basics
• Willingness to learn and demonstrate at all times appropriate spotting and teaching techniques

Skills

• First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are desired upon hire but not required

Pay

$15-$17 per hour
