About the role
The Manchester YMCA is currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic part time gymnastics instructor to lead Parent & Child Gymnastics classes. The coach will be responsible for running practices, teaching basic gymnastics skills, and fostering growth in coordination, flexibility, strength, and confidence in young children.
Duties
- Help develop and implement a safe and enjoyable gymnastics program
- Be available to work weekday evenings and weekends to help facilitate gymnastics practices, games and clinics
- Create lesson plans for youth ages 5-11
- Purchase necessary materials
- Provide leadership to other gymnastics staff
Qualifications
- Basic gymnastics knowledge and experience
- Ability to instruct and spot school age children in basic gymnastics skills
- Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation
- Experience working with children and with gymnastics and/or movement basics
- Willingness to learn and demonstrate at all times appropriate spotting and teaching techniques
Skills
- First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are desired upon hire but not required
Pay
$15-$17 per hour
