Responsibilities
- Provide law enforcement services to approximately 1,000,000 residents within an area of 437 square miles.
- Complete academy requirements and field training under the guidance of veteran officers.
- Pass a series of tests and interviews before selection as an employee.
- Conduct random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace policy.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- U.S. Citizenship for Georgia P.O.S.T. certification.
- Valid Driver's License from state of residency.
- Age 21, 20 at time of application.
- Pass a comprehensive background investigation including criminal, controlled substance, driving, work history, and physical agility testing.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree: $55,923 + 3% educational incentive = $56,718
- Bachelor's Degree: $55,923 + 6% educational incentive = $58,771
- Hiring incentive up to 10% of the base salary for new hires.
- 5% night shift differential.

Pay
- Base Salary: $55,923
- Maximum Salary: $59,278 (with a Bachelor's Degree)
- Salary Incentive: Up to $57,600 (3% educational incentive) for an Associate Degree

- 5% Night Shift Differential
