Responsibilities

• Teach progressive guitar technique, including fretting, strumming, fingerpicking, chord voicings, scales, and music theory for guitar.
• Explain barre chords, pentatonic and modal scales, rhythm patterns, and prepare students for performance, auditions, and coursework.
• Guide students through proper hand positioning, open and barre chord mastery, scale pattern navigation, and fingerpicking technique.
• Connect guitar technique to musical goals, including songwriting and ensemble performance.
• Adapt instruction using method books, popular song arrangements, and technique exercises tailored to student goals.
• Support learners from absolute beginners to advanced players across acoustic, electric, classical, and popular guitar styles.
• Identify and address common student challenges (e.g., finger strength, barre chords, reading notation vs. tablature).
• Use multiple teaching approaches to explain concepts and adapt to individual learning styles.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of guitar technique, including tablature and standard notation reading.
• Familiarity with guitar pedagogy methods and common student challenges.
• Ability to teach across acoustic, electric, classical, and popular styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Experience adapting instruction to different learning styles and student needs.
