Guitar Instructor

About the role

We are looking for a Guitar Instructor to join our team at School of Rock Wake Forest. As a Guitar Instructor, you will be responsible for all music education-related elements within lessons and rehearsals, creating a dynamic experience to challenge and inspire students. You will positively embody rock and roll and help students learn music and life skills.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction, including private lessons and shows
• Ensure students learn the fundamentals of music, not just songs
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans
• Communicate regularly with parents on student progress after lessons
• Interact with parents and students by being visible and accessible in the school
• Assist in rehearsals and basic school maintenance
• Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct and safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
• Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people
• Strong organizational skills
• Very strong customer relations skills
• Resourceful and good problem-solver
• Works well under pressure
• Good judgment
• Passion for teaching

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
