Guided Pathways Advisor I
About the role
The Guided Pathway Advisor 1 provides advising, support, mentoring and guidance to students under the Holistic Case Management Advising (HCMA) policy and resultant Guided Pathways Advising (GPA) program. Advisors serve as the primary point of contact for students from admission to completion. They support students in creating an academic and career plan and monitor student progress, conduct research, and provide and coordinate resources, referrals, and support to facilitate student retention and completion.

Requirements
- Familiarity with programs and strategies to support first-generation, low-income, non-traditional, and minoritized students
- Demonstrated ability to use technology in the workplace
- Familiarity with the community college environment and its student population
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage workload and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriately related field and one (1) or more years of related experience OR A Master’s degree in an appropriately related field and up to two (2) years of related experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Selection Process
After the closing date, applications will be reviewed by a selection committee. Candidates selected for further consideration will be those who best meet the minimum and preferred qualifications and who submitted all required materials by the deadline. The selection process may include interviews and practical exercises (e.g., written, technical, or simulation exercises). Finalists will be recommended to the Hiring Manager for final selection.
