About the role

Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of launch, flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events.

  • Designs Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space.
  • Develops Navigation functions that include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality.
  • Implements Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for launch vehicles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in aerospace engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Independent worker with capability to solve complex problems.
  • Familiarity with Linux environment and software such as MATLAB, C/C++, Python.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and interface with internal/external customers.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined in ITAR 22 CFR 120.62 (e.g., U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or protected individual).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in aerospace engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.

Pay

Salary range: $73,790 – $122,983 per year. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
