Guest Services Representative - Fitness Attendant
Job Summary
Guest Services Representatives are an integral part of the Recreation Division with the City of Greeley and are responsible for providing quality customer service to patrons of the Greeley Recreation facilities. This position assists with daily facility operations. Guest Services Representatives- Fitness Attendants are responsible for the overall safety, cleanliness, providing customer service, and upholding our policies in the fitness areas of the Family FunPlex and Greeley Recreation Center.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills
- Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire required.
- Preferred experience and knowledge of computer operations and use of software packages including Microsoft Office applications desired.
- Spanish/English bilingual skills desired.
- Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities.
- Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal.
- Ability to enforce policies and promote safety in fitness areas.
- Ability to engage with patrons in a courteous and professional manner.
- Basic knowledge of exercise techniques and movement patterns.
- Experience with a variety of fitness equipment.
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others.
- Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and stay on task when completing special projects and daily assignments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results.
- Ability to maintain a strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for the work performed.

Essential Functions
- Greet all patrons in a timely manner and inquire where and what they are doing in the facility to ensure safety.
- Monitor the use of equipment in fitness areas.
- Clean and organize all fitness areas.
- Support fitness staff by setting up and tearing down and sanitizing fitness equipment.
- Provide a friendly, inclusive, service-oriented environment for staff and patrons.
- Provide positive relations and policy education to patrons.
- Aid in fitness programming as designated by the Fitness Coordinator or Team Leads.
- Share patron comments, concerns, and feedback with the Fitness Coordinator.
- Serve as a role model to staff and patrons as it relates to personal fitness, etiquette and safety.
- Maintain familiarity of Greeley Recreation functions including: risk management procedures, membership information, basic operational practices, and understanding of programs and services.
- Respond to all injuries and assist in immediate emergency procedures.
- Keep personal training areas clean and organized.
- Maintain CPR/AED/First Aid certifications per industry standards.
- Personal commitment to increase understanding of fitness, nutrition, and wellness industry standards.
- Provide comprehensive tours of the facility to those who inquire.
- Provide quality customer service through the development of relationships with participants, community members, and various organizations.
- Participate in regular team meetings to ensure consistency is maintained throughout recreation facilities.
- Assist in restocking supplies and proper sanitation procedures.
Technology and Risk Management
- Learn and use Connect to Concepts for operations documentation.
- Follow and assist in the enforcement of risk management and emergency response training.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No Supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts while performing job responsibilities.
- Occasionally loud noise levels within the recreation facilities.
- Workdays can extend from early mornings to late evenings, as well as weekends and holidays.
- Variable Hour Position: employees are expected to work less than 30 hours average per week.
- Physical effort required including, but not limited to, lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and prolonged standing and walking.
- Strength and stamina enough to walk, stand, stretch, bend, lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Travel May travel up to 10% of the time.
