About the Role

The Guest Service Representative I serves as the initial contact for guests arriving at a key entry point in the hospital or in a facility waiting area. This role is responsible for greeting patients, providing direction, overseeing the traffic in lobby areas, and providing general hospital information. The Guest Services Representative I must have comprehensive knowledge of hospital services, their locations, and key resources to assist any hospital customer.

Schedule

Part-time, Monday through Wednesday, 2pm–8pm.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and guests, provide direction, and oversee lobby traffic.
  • Provide general hospital information and assist customers with locating services.
  • Communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and all levels of authority.
  • Respond quickly and properly to irregular and emergency situations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required for those hired after November 2024).
  • 1–2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Valid state driver’s license (required at facilities where Valet assistance may be needed).
  • Effective communication skills with diverse backgrounds and all levels of authority.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Ability to function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in operating a computer, including typing and using Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current notary public or willingness to become one, if needed.

Physical Demands

  • Constant standing, frequent walking, and bending/stooping.
  • Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and legible writing.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. (Safe Handling Equipment required for weights over 35 lbs.).
  • May require the use of safety equipment, such as a HEPA mask, for infection prevention.
  • On-call responsibilities as directed.
  • Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role is $16.00 – $23.39 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. The pay range does not include applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, or other incentives available for eligible positions.
