Guardhouse Attendant

Position Summary And Responsibilities

The Guardhouse Attendant is responsible for monitoring the in and out traffic, while maintaining a secure work environment for the safety of all Ben E. Keith personnel. Monitor shipping/receiving access. Review all relevant logs and documentation to ensure daily activities are completed in a timely manner. Communicate with all relevant personnel to fulfill duties accurately and efficiently. Follow appropriate security procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all BEK personnel. Perform additional administrative and operational tasks as needed.

Day Shift

• Monday-Thursday: 6:00am - 4:00pm
• Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: Off

Must be flexible and available to cover vacations, call-ins, and other staffing needs, including nights and other shifts as required.

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements

• At least 1 year of related experience required
• Ability to use and follow safety rules and guidelines
• Knowledge of safety rules required
• Proficient use of PC and knowledge of Microsoft applications required
• Ability to learn and use internal software applications as needed
• Solid interpersonal skills
• Good problem-solving and organization skills
• Able to multi-task and prioritize
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent work ethic
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
• Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs
• Must be able to bend at the waist
• Must have the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds
• Must be able to read numbers and product descriptions
