Guard

Join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. This role ensures the safety and security of personnel and real property on the base and reports to the Security Department Manager. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed patrols, mounted and on foot.
• Stand post at designated locations, carrying out instructions to ensure emergencies, security, and safety violations are discovered and reported.
• Perform all work safely with concern for self and others, complying with environmental permits and regulations.
• Maintain a professional manner and neat appearance in assigned uniform.
• Work in or near munition storage and demilitarization facilities.
• Qualify in the use of firearms, less-than-lethal intervention, and other security procedures.
• Ensure the integrity and security of the Hawthorne Army Depot, its property, and stored assets.
• Maintain constant visual observation, reporting and responding to situations such as trespassers, hostile intruders, or criminal activity.
• Stand post at entrance and egress points, ensuring compliance with access regulations.
• Provide oral and written reports to central dispatch, supervisors, or designated personnel.
• Respond to dispatches and alarms, observing situations to secure property and personnel.
• Function as a first responder to contain areas during spills or discharges involving hazardous substances or explosives.
• Conduct vehicle and foot patrols of perimeters and assigned locations.
• Monitor individuals and vehicles entering sensitive and restricted areas, including ammo storage, ensuring compliance with Standard Operational Procedures (SOP).
• Responsible for assigned equipment, including vehicles, keys, radios, and weapons.
• May require overtime, shift work, or varying hours; maintain good attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Able to stand for long periods.
• Computer literate in common software applications; able to operate general office equipment.
• Pass the Physical Agility Test (PAT), including 19 Army Standard Push-ups and a 1.5-mile run within 17:30 minutes.
• Able to wear a Full-Face APR (M40, North, etc.).
• Maintain fitness-for-duty standards for essential functions, including HWAD drills, contingencies, or emergencies.
• Pass and maintain PILB certification throughout employment.
• Valid driver’s license and pass a driving record (MVR) check.
• Obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access (US Citizenship required).
• Obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance (US Citizenship required).

This position is designated as safety-sensitive and requires compliance with the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix, HWAD A&D Program, personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam, and respiratory screening. Must meet and maintain suitability and reliability requirements per 29 CFR and Army Regulations: AR 190-11, AR 190-13, and DOD Contractors Safety Manual 4145.26.

Pay

$28.95 - $31.74 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
