About the role

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan's state-funded, nationally recognized, Pre-K program for 4-year-old children. We’re looking for a GSRP Associate Teacher to support a high-quality, play-based classroom that prepares children for kindergarten and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily lessons using an approved GSRP curriculum
  • Auxiliary in observing and assessing children’s development using approved tools
  • Maintain a safe, engaging, and organized classroom
  • Build positive relationships with children and families
  • Participate in family engagement activities, staff meetings, and required professional development

Requirements

  • Average of 2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children
  • A valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with a plan to complete an associate degree
  • A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development

Qualifications

  • Passing scores on the Michigan Early Childhood Educator Assessment (MECEA)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid Michigan Early Childhood Educator License (ECEL)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of child development theories and practices
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
