GSRP Lead Teacher

Description

We are seeking GSRP Teachers to support our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) program! This state-funded program supports preschool age children.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching OR
    • Associate degree and CDA with a focus on obtaining a bachelor’s in early childhood education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Early Childhood (ZA or ZS) endorsement
  • A plus if you have previous experience teaching at-risk children

Monday - Friday

Employment Type

Full-time, 185 days per year

Compensation

$34,000 - $40,000 per year, based on education and experience

Hiring Process

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Implement developmentally appropriate instruction for children using research-based curriculum
  • Follow the daily schedule as outlined in the curriculum and GSRP guidelines
  • Conduct screening and ongoing assessment of children and provide age-appropriate instructional support
  • Meet with Early Childhood Specialist as needed to ensure quality programming and maintain a high-level PQA rating
  • Attend staff meetings, workshops, and other scheduled program activities as requested
  • Collaborate with the associate teacher in planning, team meetings, troubleshooting, and decision-making
  • Participate in home visits with associate teacher to partner with parents to meet the educational needs of their children
  • Complete required progress reports and other paperwork
  • Participate in district recruitment efforts, including open houses and roundups, and assist in student selection
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed for family involvement activities, including home visits, recruitment events, open house
  • Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role
