GSRP Associate Teacher, GRCES Evergreen Campus

Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School, Evergreen Campus is seeking a Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Associate Teacher for our four-year-old preschool classroom. This is a full-time, hourly position (40 hours/week) during the school year.

About the role

We are seeking friendly, responsible, and collaborative candidates who possess a deep commitment to Christian education. The GSRP Associate Teacher reports to the Building Principal and Early Learning Center (ELC) Director, and coordinates with the GSRP Lead Teacher and ELC Assistant Director.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate care and compassion for children in a preschool learning environment
• Provide a safe and healthy environment for students by following all licensing guidelines
• Assist the lead teacher with leading and guiding small and whole group lessons, classroom management, and activities
• Actively participate in ongoing professional development
• Ensure the classroom is kept in a clean and safe condition
• Provide instructional support to the lead teacher as necessary

Requirements

• Must possess a CDA (Child Development Associate) credential
• CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain, if offered a position
• Complete and pass the state-required background check
• Complete MiRegistry Health & Safety 1 & 2 training
• Must be able to stand and move around for long periods of time

Physical Requirements

• Ability to actively engage with young children throughout the day, including sitting on the floor, bending, kneeling, reaching, and moving quickly as needed to ensure child safety and supervision
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, and assist children weighing up to 40 pounds
• Ability to safely respond in emergency situations and assist with daily classroom activities and care routines
