About the Role
This position involves maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the safe operation of all Gatlinburg SkyPark chairlifts, surface carpets, cable rope transportation systems, and zip line infrastructure. The role includes installation, repair, and oversight of a small team while maximizing safety and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and ensure safe operation of chairlifts, surface lifts, carpets, and other cable rope transportation systems.
- Maintain all aspects of zip line infrastructure, including installation and repair.
- Maximize safety within all departmental operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Retain necessary certifications, licenses, and training.
- Perform tasks requiring climbing, welding, or changing running gear 20-30 feet above ground.
- Read and understand electrical schematics.
- Assist with lift construction, refinishing, lift operations, and other resort needs as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Supervise a team of three to four members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Lift maintenance experience required.
- Mechanical abilities and working knowledge of low voltage systems.
- Experience with detachable and fixed grip lifts, as well as surface lifts.
- Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to:
- High, precarious places.
- Fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Outside weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat.
- Risk of electrical shock, explosives, radiation, and vibration.
- Occasional wet and/or humid conditions.
- Moderate noise levels.
