GSLP: Grounds Keeping Specialist

About the Role

As a member of our Grounds Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for the general upkeep of SkyPark’s grounds, ensuring the first impression for guests and team members is a positive one.

Responsibilities

• Cut and trim grass.
• Utilize hand tools and landscaping maintenance equipment to maintain and improve the appearance of the park grounds.
• Maintain and enhance park cleanliness.
• Apply fertilizer to the ground to enhance growth.
• Pick up litter around the park.
• Cut down tree limbs that pose a danger.
• Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment used in grounds keeping.
• Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
• Handle new plantings on the property.
• Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.
• Perform daily checks and maintenance on park elements, such as water features.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by your manager.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have reliable transportation.

• Grounds maintenance experience (helpful but not required).
• Enjoy working outdoors.
• Flexible with interruptions, changes, and unexpected events.
• Energetic and personable.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Adhere to policies and procedures in the GSLP Handbook.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand for 6-8 hours at a time.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment

This is an outdoor position with exposure to the elements. Daily assignments will be in various locations around the property.

Schedule

This is a full-time, year-round position, including days and weekends. Overtime may or may not be available.

Travel may be necessary to acquire supplies or equipment needed to complete job assignments.
