GSD - CTE Health Sciences/Pharmacy Technician (GTI Only)

Responsibilities

• Teach the state approved curriculum for the Pharmacy Technician course.
• Support students in building skills necessary for further training, entry into employment, and/or completion of an externship.
• Able to pass the DOPL Pharmacy Technician licensure test.
• Work with industry partners to accredit the Granite Technical Institute pharmacy technician training program.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction.
• Utilize effective teaching techniques to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the child.
• Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities in various weather conditions.
• Evaluate students' academic and social growth and maintain appropriate records.
• Communicate with parents through various means to discuss the student's progress.
• Collaborate with industry partners to align classroom instruction with workforce skill needs.
• Implement proficiency-based grading practices.
• Use technology and hands-on learning practices to enhance student engagement and instruction.
• Support students in the DOPL licensing process for Pharmacy Technicians.
• Willing to work with industry partners to prepare students for externships and entry-level opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.

Qualifications

• Valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with a pharmacy technician endorsement.
• Valid Associate Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with a pharmacy technician endorsement.
• An equivalent license in another state with an endorsement comparable to a pharmacy technician endorsement.
• A current Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist DOPL license.
• A minimum of 3 years industry experience (5 years experience preferred).
