About the role

The Group Product Manager is responsible for leading the strategic development and lifecycle management of Small Business deposit products. This role owns the product strategy & roadmap and helps the Bank's business segments drive revenue growth and client satisfaction by delivering compelling value propositions, launching innovative products, and optimizing existing offerings while ensuring competitive pricing, regulatory compliance, and robust risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term product vision and roadmap, aligning with market trends, client needs, and CNB’s business strategy and sales goals.
  • Develop value propositions tailored to our client segments, ensuring differentiated experiences and retention.
  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle (ideation, development, launch, optimization) for new and enhanced products.
  • Drive innovation initiatives by exploring partnerships, technology enhancements, and client feedback to address unmet needs.
  • Monitor competitor and market developments to identify opportunities for impactful solutions.
  • Banker Adoption & Client Penetration: Track and share accountability with sales colleagues for the number of clients, volume of units and balances and other product metrics, as defined in annual business goals and new product business cases.
  • Profitability Management: Track and share accountability with sales colleagues for a product’s contribution to net income.
  • Client and Sales Colleague Research: Conduct primary research (interviews, surveys) to inform the product roadmap.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Conduct secondary research to understand what good looks like at other banks and fintechs in the market; track unmet market needs that can be met by the bank.
  • Partner Capability & Roadmap Intelligence: Meet regularly with vendors to understand current and new offerings and capabilities available to the bank.
  • Fintech Landscape: Attend meetings with potential fintech partners whose solutions the bank is exploring.
  • Proactively identify and assess risks in product development, pricing, and client onboarding.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard CNB’s reputation, clients, and assets.
  • Escalate and manage control issues transparently, ensuring accountability across teams.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes, reduce operational complexity, and enhance efficiency across product workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to U.S. banking regulations (FDIC, FRB, CFPB, OCC, BSA/AML, etc.) and CNB’s internal policies.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes and implement corresponding product adjustments.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Service, Credit, Treasury Products, Digital, Technology) and partners to drive product adoption and growth.
  • Supervise day-to-day product management activities, including client communication, issue resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Mentor team members and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and results-driven execution.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and CNB executives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in banking product management
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Small Business lending and deposits
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading a product team

  • Strong analytical skills, with expertise in data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with competing priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field; master’s degree preferred
  • Experience serving high-net-worth individuals and top-tier small businesses
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and digital product development
  • Cash/Treasury product and deposit product experience a plus
  • Segment management experience a plus.
