Group Life Coordinator 2 Pool - MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility
About the role
Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking qualified candidates to join our team as Group Life Coordinator 2 (GLC2) at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both the youth in our care and our dedicated staff.
Responsibilities
- Continuous interactive supervision of youth and ensuring strict adherence to all policies, procedures, and rules.
- Building strong rapport with youth and staff.
- Addressing and redirecting behavior.
- Modeling and fostering pro-social skills.
- Supporting the pursuit of youth's treatment goals.
- Coaching, confronting, and correcting youth behavior as necessary.
- Observing, documenting, and addressing youth behavior.
- Making observations and documenting youth participation in programs.
- Monitoring youth for potential health and safety risks, including suicide prevention.
- Conducting security inspections and searches of youth living units and youth.
- Administering medication to youth (under the indirect supervision of medical staff) and maintaining contact with medical staff to ensure appropriate medical care for the youth.
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED certificate, or equivalent education.
- Six months full-time experience observing, evaluating, developing, and monitoring human behavior and performance.
- A Certificate or Associate degree from an accredited school in a behavioral science, education, criminal justice, or related field.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid driver license and acceptable driving record.
- Pass a Physical Abilities Test (PAT).

Pay
The salary range listed is the non-PERS participating rate. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible, the salary range will increase by 6%.
Schedule
Shift work in a 24-hour, 7-day a week operation, with night shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
