Job Summary
The After School Group Leader is responsible for the overall safety, development, management, organization and planning of their group. This includes integrated educational projects, recreation, arts and crafts and group building activities.
Major Duties
- Develop and facilitate a sequenced and thematic curriculum and other various activities including arts & crafts.
- Curriculum should promote creativity, self-expression, opportunity for mastery, and emotional growth and future focus/career exploration as well as professional growth.
- Foster a positive youth development approach focusing on , strengths-based environment, fostering a sense of belonging, independence, generosity, mastery safety, and community to participants.
- Supervise support staff assigned to your group (including but not limited to assistant group leader, interns, volunteers, etc.).
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A High School/ GED Diploma and 1 year related experience in leading and participating in youth group development related activities required.
- Experience building a camp culture through chants, team building activities, and community building preferred.
- Can contribute a talent or experience in arts, music, crafts, etc. a plus.
