About the role
The Group Leader at The Child Center of NY is responsible for setting goals for program participants, facilitating activities, and preparing curriculum and lesson plans. The group leader also maintains a safe and learning environment for program participants.
Responsibilities
- Provide homework help, facilitate activities, and supervise children in programs outside of school day hours
- Serve as a supervisor and monitor children, taking daily attendance
- Aid tutors and activity specialists in managing and documenting behavior
- Maintain supplies and assist in data collection and upkeep of participant documents
- Attend all necessary program meetings
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Content-specific experience (e.g., sports, arts, literacy, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience working with children
- Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently
- Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines, and multi-task
Hours
Monday – Friday | 2:15 PM – 6:00 PM
Staff meeting every other Friday until 7:00 PM
