Group Lead

About the role

JELD-WEN is seeking a Group Lead to assist in providing value-added goods and services to customers. This role is part of American Building Supply, a subsidiary of JELD-WEN, which is one of the nation's largest wholesale suppliers of doors, door hardware, windows, and millwork.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift
• Coincides with work activities with management
• Participates in Continuous Improvement processes, such as SQDCI Board & Gemba Walks
• Reads and interprets production schedule
• Ensures security of facilities during designated shift hours
• Ensures all safety, manufacturing, and quality procedures are followed
• Enables effective communications between management and operators
• Trains new employees and coaches existing employees
• Investigates and reports all incidents
• Checks shipping documents for correct customer information
• Performs start of shift preventative maintenance inspection
• Aids in inventory cycle counts as needed
• Material preparation and material handling
• Other general warehouse duties as needed

Requirements

Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar environment is preferred, but not required.

Pay

Expected pay for this role is between $26.80 to $29.61 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
