Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes audition and hiring process of all new instructors.
- Assists Director in training of all instructors by either helping with workshops for the company or alerting the Director to what is specifically needed at their location.
- Responsible for maintaining current staff information. Keeps current phone list in communication book at the front desk and with club managers and Director.
- Responsible for scheduling staff to teach based on instructor availability, qualifications, member preferences, and club needs.
- Consistently keeps class attendance numbers and submits monthly and/or quarterly reports to management.
- Responsible for developing specialty class formats and implementing into the schedules.
- Captures and implements new programs/classes, including what is required for Les Mills Launches as decided upon by management.
- Completes and maintains accurate payroll records.
- Supervise all group exercise staff and ensures daily class coverage.
- Teaches Group Exercise classes on an as-needed basis.
- Regularly evaluates instructors based on annual performance, peer reviews and instructional techniques.
- Attends monthly Group Exercise meetings with Director and other Coordinators.
- Affords assistance with organization and presentation of any CEC workshops or presentations that are being offered by the Group X Department.
- Maintains cleanliness with the studio, including the stereo system, staff folders, and equipment. Maintains adequate supplies such as batteries, cleaning supplies, etc.
- Submits requests for additional equipment to General Manager.
- Responsible for updating instructors with communication from the club and Director.
- Regularly updates Group Exercise schedules and any other relevant information on the American Family Fitness Website.
- Promotes the club and its programs to staff, members, and prospective members.
- Attends all monthly clubs department head meetings. Maintains communication between all departments. i.e. Fitness, Sales, etc. Keeps club staff informed of changes, new classes, etc.
- Continuously abides by American Family Fitness Mission, Vision, and Code of Ethics.
Requirements
- At least one year of management experience and three years of Group Fitness teaching experience
- AFAA or ACE Primary Group Exercise Certification
- At least one MOSSA certification (or a willingness to obtain one within 90 days of hire)
- At least one AFF-approved specialty certification preferred - Ex: Zumba, Spinning, RYT200, etc.
- CPR and AED Certification
- Proficient oral, written, and technology communication (email/texting) skills
- Knowledge of business software and Microsoft Windows/Office
