About the role
This position is responsible for teaching Group Fitness classes in any and/or all fitness levels. This includes organizing choreography, attending scheduled Group Fitness meetings and teaching classes as scheduled.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Obtain Group Fitness certification through the American Sports & Fitness Association (ASFA) within six (6) months of hire
- Certification in AED/CPR within thirty (30) days of hire
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides a safe and fun environment for participants
- Promotes knowledge of proper group fitness components, i.e. warm up, aerobic exercise, flexibility, cool down, etc.
- Knowledgeable in the techniques and dynamics of group fitness
- Knowledge in a variety of group fitness classes
- Provides customer service to patrons
- Knowledge of the Health and Wellness Center policies
- Works closely and communicates class changes and/or cancellations to the Group Fitness Coordinator
- Strive to meet class attendance quotas

- Ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well coordinated work effort and to effectively meet work schedules including an ability to integrate multiple factors which may have an impact on patient care
- Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to follow attendance/punctuality/time card system/scheduling policies
- Demonstrates knowledge of parking/hospital department locations
- Demonstrates knowledge and adheres to dress code
- Demonstrates knowledge of Compliance Program/Code of Conduct/Confidentiality
- Demonstrates knowledge of Emergency Management Plan including the following codes: Code Blue (Cardiac Arrest), Code 1 (Assault), Code Utility (Utility Failure), Code Red (Fire), Code Weather (Inclement Weather), Code Gray (Hostage Situation), Code Amber & Code Walker, Code Orange (Hazmat), Code Black (Bomb Threat)
- Demonstrates knowledge of physical health/wellness information and Exposure Control Plan
- Demonstrates knowledge of Office/workplace safety
- Demonstrates knowledge of Risk Management/Occurrence Report Practices/Non-punitive Work Environment
- Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the Department and Service Line hired
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with patients, visitors and staff
