Group Fitness Instructor
About the role
DAC Fitness offers an exciting, innovative, and varied group exercise program. While each club has its own tailored program, most schedules include formats such as Zumba, Boot Camp, Yoga, Les Mills Body Pump, Les Mills Body Combat, Les Mills Grit, Indoor Cycling, and several Senior formats. Our Southaven, MS location also offers Aqua Fitness classes.
A Group Fitness Instructor is a motivator who leads large, member-centered fitness classes. They are highly sociable individuals who draw energy from coaching and motivating people. They use their customer service skills, optimism, and positive attitude in almost every facet of what they do inside the facility. They are team players who are flexible to accommodate schedule changes, and they have an ability to self-promote and grow class participation. They are punctual and dependable, and they have a health-focused disposition. They are knowledgeable and courteous fitness professionals, able to deliver safe, effective, and physiologically sound workouts while also exciting and engaging members.
Requirements
- Nationally recognized group exercise or personal training certification
- 1 year of teaching experience
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent customer service skills
- Clear verbal communication skills
- Experience teaching the specific format that is being applied for
If the initial qualifications are met, Group Fitness Instructor candidates may audition before a group of members and the Group Fitness Director.
