About the role

The Group Facilitator is responsible for conducting group clinical work at a direct client care level and works collaboratively with the team to ensure that each client’s treatment goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates structured, curriculum-based skills and psychoeducational groups addressing mental health, substance use, recovery, coping, emotional regulation, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Delivers approved group curricula while maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
  • Documents attendance, participation, topics addressed, and client response accurately and timely.
  • Communicates relevant client observations and concerns to the treatment team and collaborates with clinical staff as appropriate.
  • Maintains confidentiality, follows organizational policies and applicable regulations, and participates in required training, supervision, and staff meetings.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mental Health or comparable field is required
  • 3+ years’ experience in Behavioral Health field
  • Certified Mental Health Technician (CMHT) or comparable behavioral-health certification preferred; certification may be required based on assigned program responsibilities and organizational policy
  • Experience in leadership with Substance Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation models are preferred
  • 2+ years facilitating groups in a mental health/substance use setting is required
  • Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities is required
  • Experience with Sunwave EMR is preferred
  • Any other criteria required by the Governing Body
