Group Exercise Instructor - Yoga

Responsibilities

• Serves as positive role model through the direct performance of class instruction and by demonstrating:
• positive attitude towards members, staff, programs and the facility;
• appropriate concern for members;
• punctuality in the discharge of duties;
• initiative, interest and enthusiasm for the job;
• constructive use of work time;
• cooperation;
• an awareness of limitations and seeking suggestions for improvement in performance from appropriate persons.
• Communicates effectively by:
• keeping the Team Leader/Supervisor/Manager informed of current activities affecting the Center;
• maintaining clear lines of authority;
• obtaining the appropriate approval for program changes;
• coordinating schedules with other teams.

Qualifications

• High School or GED;
• ACE - Advanced Health & Fitness Specialist - American Council on Exercise;
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association;
• ACSM - American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer;
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association;
• One year experience.

Specialized Knowledge

• Credentials specific for area of group exercise specialty.
• HR and RPE assessment.
• Anatomy, special needs of participants, in particular knowledge regarding adult exercise and special populations.

Hours Of Work

Saturdays- 9:00AM to Noon
Weekdays- 5:30PM to 7:30PM
Candidate must have weekend and evening availability. Other hours are variable depending on departmental needs.
