Group Exercise Instructor -MAC YMCA

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise exercise class or sport activity.
• Promotes YMCA mission.
• Fill out accident reports and turn them into the Program Director.
• Ensures safety and care of the participant.
• Act as a liaison between the Program Director and participants.
• Be prompt and on time for classes.
• Sign in and out or punch in and out.
• Set up equipment or facility, and store and secure facility upon completion of activity.
• Report problems with participants or equipment to the Program Director.
• Develop a positive program philosophy.

Qualifications

• Group Exercise Certification or certification to instruct a specific program.
• Knowledge, experience and ability to instruct effectively in their designated class area and deal calmly and professionally with members, participants, and supervisors.
• All YMCA staff must have, or be in the process of obtaining, CPR/AED and First Aid certification, and Child Abuse Prevention Training.
