Essential Duties/Functions
- Counsels members on fitness goals and provides encouragement and motivation
- Ensures all participants receive modifications to meet their needs
- Substitutes for other instructors when needed
- Maintains a maximum of 10 classes per week with the YMCA Association
- Adheres to Child Abuse Prevention guidelines
Qualifications
- Knowledge of designing, conducting, and implementing safe and effective group exercise classes
- Knowledge of general health and wellness
- Experience in health/fitness field preferred
- Specialty group exercise instructor certification from AFAA, ACE, Zumba, AEA, Pilates, TRX, MOSSA, etc.
- National group exercise instructor certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, etc.
- Average of 8 participants per class for higher levels
- TB clearance required
- High school diploma or GED required
- CPR/AED and First Aid required
