This Group Analyst position is integral to maximizing the Hotel’s revenues, budgets, and forecasts. The role supports and liaises with sales, revenue management, and operations departments, focusing on the preparation and analysis of incoming group leads and revenue reports to assist the sales team in implementing yield strategies.
Responsibilities
- Manage the group lead process for the Sales Team:
- Evaluate incoming group leads and RFPs for specific segments or groups of hotels.
- Calculate and recommend optimal quotes based on historical data, displacement analysis, and current market demand.
- Attend DBR and quote leads that fall outside established MARS (Minimum Acceptable Rate Standards).
- Manage and modify MAR (Minimum Acceptable Rate) Rates in the Sales System under the guidance of the Director of Sales and Revenue Manager to ensure optimal use by the sales team.
- Ensure the sales team is equipped with accurate, up-to-date pricing floors.
- Assist Directors of Revenue Management and Directors of Sales in preparing hotel forecast reporting.
- Support BT Sales with market analysis reporting as needed.
- Prepare and distribute accurate sales and revenue reports, including:
- Market segmentation analysis
- Production reports
- Pace reports
- Group forecast reports
- Budget tools
- Perform audits and maintenance on systems such as Sales System, PMS (Property Management System), and Profit Source system in conjunction with Sales Teams.
- Conduct routine GRC (Group Room Control) reviews with sales teams, including cleanup of stale pipeline and pricing review of active pipeline over needs periods.
- Group Pickup Tracking:
- Monitor and analyze contracted group blocks versus actualized/picked-up rooms.
- Identify underperforming groups early and collaborate with sales managers to mitigate wash.
- Communicate upcoming cut-off dates to ensure timely entry of rooming lists and monitor potential inventory wash.
- Be knowledgeable of all special rates, promotions, room types, and hotel products.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of revenue management experience, preferably in the NYC market.
- Multi-brand or multi-hotel experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
Work Environment
- Work schedule varies and may include working various shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Requires ability to navigate throughout the restaurant and kitchen, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
