About the role
The Microelectronics Laboratory is seeking students to apply their science and engineering skills in a US Government's advanced wafer fabrication facility. Successful candidates will design, run, and analyze experiments to improve wafer fabrication processes, supporting national security interests.
Responsibilities
- Create and improve wafer fabrication processes through experimental design and analysis.
- Implement process improvements in support of advanced technologies such as superconducting circuits, quantum computing circuits, radiation hardened electronics, RF devices, integrated photonics, and charge coupled imagers.
- Work in a cleanroom environment, focusing on areas like photolithography, reactive ion etching, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor deposition, wafer bonding, wet chemical processing, and ion implantation.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, or statistics.
- Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment.
- Enthusiasm for problem-solving and teamwork.
- US citizenship.

Benefits
- Compensation for 2025: $24.50 - $31.00 per hour (based on year in school).
- Administrative Co-Op compensation: $21.50 - $25.00 per hour (based on year in school).

- Administrative Co-Op: $21.50 - $25.00 per hour.
