Basic Function Grounds people serve a pivotal role on tree care crews, with the primary responsibility of assisting the climbers and crew leader in the performance of all general tree work services. Responsibilities Perform all required ground duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leaderAssist in the performance of specialized pruning and take-downs, installing cabling and bracingSafely operate equipmentParticipate in all job site safety briefingsPerform proper felling, limbing and bucking techniques with a chainsawPerform pruning from the ground with hand tools and pole saws, application of approved rigging techniques and knowledge of standard knotsAssist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking dutiesPerform ground duties such as job site set up and clean up as required. Requirements Previous industry experience is desiredKnowledge of pruning techniques including large shade trees and ornamentalsAbility to operate chainsaw, chipper, stump grinder and log moverKnowledge of industry standard rigging techniques and knotsKnowledge of native and introduced tree and shrub species and characteristics of each species is desiredAbility to lift 50lbs and occasionally 80-100lbs with assistanceValid Driver's License and CDLBi-lingual is a plus Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package, $18 - $22 per hour based on experience, medical and dental plans with employer contribution, 401K retirement savings plan, paid time off, and more!
