GROUNDSMAN

Duties and/or Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring daily maintenance of the plant and yard is completed.
• Responsible for routine and daily housekeeping duties to ensure a clean plant and yard.
• Safely and properly perform maintenance tasks such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Shovel excess material away from crusher, screen, or wash plant areas.
• May operate small, powered hand tools.
• Lift, carry, and hold material, tools, and supplies.
• Help with daily errands as needed; deliver parts/items between Knife River locations.

Minimum Requirements

• Safety first attitude required.
• Ability to pass a criminal background and pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic knowledge of plant operation, conveyor systems, and maintenance.
• Experience working around plants and/or rock crushers.
• Good mechanical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others and follow directions.
• Equipment operation skills helpful.
• Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime).

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Extensive walking on uneven surfaces.
• May lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
• Exposure to dust, fumes, odors, mists, adhesives, acids.
• Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting.
• Working in all weather conditions for extended period of time.
