Essential Functions
- Trims and fertilizes trees and shrubbery.
- Mows and edges lawns.
- Picks up trash and debris from grounds.
- Waters lawns and shrubs as needed or directed.
- Weeds and tends flower beds, gardens and lawns.
- Collects, loads, and hauls off trash.
- Digs holes and plants flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Installs weed fabric and mulch.
- Stakes and guys trees.
- Performs solid waste collection campus-wide to include pick up of bagged, boxed or loose materials and transport by truck to dumpsters located throughout campus for unloading.
- Affords assistance in the installation and repair of irrigation systems.
- Operates power washer to clean sidewalks and other paved surfaces.
- Safely applies chemicals to lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers and paved surfaces as required.
- May be responsible for performing groundskeeping and custodial duties in maintaining a small group of buildings and grounds.
- May be required to operate a tractor or other groundskeeping equipment, as well as a motor vehicle to travel to and from work sites or transport materials.
