Groundskeeper

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility.
• Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees and other areas.
• Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water.
• Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as necessary.
• Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways.
• Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds.
• Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course.
• Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates have a passion for landscaping and nurturing our grounds. Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work extended hours during golf and holiday season, as needed.

Skills

Frequent use of hands. Regularly stands, walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and crawls. Frequently lifts, moves, and carries up to 50 pounds; to push or pull up to 100 pounds. Regularly exposed to hot and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, compact spaces, hot attic temperatures, and outside weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
