About the role
The hotel team at The Indigo Road Hospitality Group (IRHG) is seeking a groundskeeper to maintain the outdoor areas of our properties.
Responsibilities
- Provides general indoor and outdoor upkeep of lodge property.
- Aware of maintenance needs for lodge with ability to lead maintenance tasks.
- Upkeep of bike trail, lodge lawn, gardens, ornaments, and miscellaneous landscaping including trimming bushes, shrubs, and hedges.
- Picks up and removes trash prior to mowing a designated area.
- Maintains empties trash and recycling containers.
- Applies fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides as directed.
- Completes snow removal tasks such as shoveling sidewalks, steps, and doorways as needed during winter months.
- Performs routine maintenance on power equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Completes all tasks as assigned for the day to the standards of Skyline Lodge and our guests.
- Visually inspect public areas and overall Lodge for cleanliness and appearance; clean as assigned.
- Responds quickly and efficiently to all guest requests.
- Practice chemical safety rules and follows procedures for needles and other hazardous materials.
- Maintain high standards of guest relations when in contact with the guest.
- Perform or assist with cleaning duties and proactively assists others when own tasks are completed.
Requirements for Success
- Prior maintenance/groundskeeping experience is required.
- Good communication and multitasking skills.
- Ability to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgement and effectively solve problems.
- Strive to maintain personal, staff and guest safety.
- Participates in activities and meetings.
- Ability to stand and walk 90% of the time, occasional stooping, kneeling or crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps.
