Groundskeeper
About the role
This position will be responsible for performing skilled gardening work and maintaining exterior hardscapes with minimal direct supervision to keep properties clean, safe, and attractive. In an assigned area of up to 10 acres, under general supervision, function independently and be held accountable for overall management and work performed. Coordinate and collaborate with other team members on larger projects.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of practical groundskeeping or landscaping experience in a public or institutional environment
- Experience weeding, grooming, planting, and transplanting
- Experience pruning a variety of different types and species of woody plants
- Experience driving trucks
Qualifications
- Current Washington State Driver's License to operate hospital vehicles
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in horticulture, Associate's degree in horticulture, or Certificate in horticulture
- ISA Certified Arborist certification
- Certified Irrigation Technician certification
Skills
- Strong plant identification skills, particularly of plants that are commonly grown outdoors in the Pacific Northwest
- Experience removing ice and snow using shovels, plows, and heavy equipment

Pay
Compensation Range: $23.15 - $34.73 per hour
Schedule
Work is performed year-round, outdoors, in all types of weather at the main campus of Seattle Children's Hospital and at various clinical and non-clinical sites as assigned.
