Job Overview
The Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features
- Make minor repairs to items such as fences, gates, or walls
- Gather, remove, and dispose of trash or waste materials
- Water and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems
- Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste
- Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using grounds maintenance equipment
- Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger
- Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools
- Rake, mulch, and compost leaves
- Operate and perform minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws
- Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment
- Stop at risk behaviors of others and self
- Respond to trouble calls and cleans up spills
- Communicate with co-workers, management, and customers and advises on plant selection or care
- Provide information about landscaping services or costs

Education And/ Or Experience
- High school diploma / GED – preferred
- Six Months Related Experience And/or Training – Preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Completed all safety and task training certifications.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or listen.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
