Groundskeeper

About the role

The Groundskeeper / Assistant Maintenance Technician will maintain the overall cleanliness and functionality of the community facilities. This job plays a key role in executing our company’s purpose statement: We build community by bringing people together in the neighborhoods where they live.

Responsibilities

• Daily upkeep of the community grounds and facilities.
• General cleaning and removing trash on a dedicated route.
• Sweeping or hosing off community areas daily and as needed after rental.
• Ensuring areas around the dumpsters are clear.
• Operating within OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Maintaining inventory of supplies / equipment needed to perform duties.
• Executing additional tasks as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years old.
• At least 2 years of grounds keeping / maintenance experience.
• Skills in carpentry, HVAC, electric, plumbing and other building trades.
• Experience in landscaping, irrigation and grounds maintenance.
• Must be organized, efficient and have the ability to recognize the level of quality acceptable to keep facilities looking their best.
• Able to communicate with residents, managers and peers in an effective way.
• Flexibility to work after-hours and weekends.
• Problem solving skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving history.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and physical.

Skills
