Responsibilities
The Groundskeeper is responsible for the meticulous upkeep of grounds, amenities and building exteriors of the assigned community buildings. Essential Functions include:
- Remove trash from office areas and apartment community perimeter
- Assist in the preparation of market ready units, including remove trash from vacant apartments (trash outs) prior to make-ready
- Assist maintenance team with snow removal (If applicable)
- Assist in the troubleshoot/repair of mechanical, carpentry and electrical problems
- Deliver communication documentation to residents
- Learns and ensures compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules
- Contribute to resident retention programs
- Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on available apartments, models, clubhouse, and/or common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Lawn Maintenance
- Low level landscaping projects
- Water flowers in containers as needed in the summer.
- Water grass and shrubs in the summer to prevent drying or browning.
- Pull weeds in rock beds, sidewalk and driveway cracks and other areas.
- Plant and nurture new trees, flowers, and various plants.
- Trim bushes as needed.
- Work with hand tools and basic light machinery (hedge trimmer, rake, shovel).
- Maintain a clean garden by clearing rubbish and litter from the garden.
- Update management on matters related to the gardening work.
- Ensure a safe environment for staff and clients by adhering to safety and health regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to set priorities
- Reliable transportation to travel to and between buildings with equipment and attend business meetings and trainings
