Job Summary

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s Facilities Division is seeking a Groundskeeper to join their team. The Groundskeeper will assist in maintaining the laboratory grounds and supporting the Lab’s vegetation management plan through various landscaping activities.

What You Will Do

• Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment
• Assist with various grounds-related duties
• Follow safety regulations and use personal protective equipment
• Maintain operational and safety records
• Minimize exposure to hazardous materials and support environmental compliance
• Drive pickup trucks and passenger vehicles to job sites
• Participate in pre-job briefings and use CMMS systems

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience working on landscaping
• Valid California Driver’s license
• Basic knowledge of plant identification, horticulture, irrigation systems, and safe pesticide use
• Physical fitness to perform tasks such as climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, lifting up to 100 feet, standing for up to 8 hours, and operating power mowers
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
• Knowledge of LBL facilities layout, key personnel, procedures, and safety program

Desired Skills/Knowledge

• Completion of training courses in shop work or maintenance work

Additional Information

• Appointment Type: Full-time career appointment, non-exempt (hourly paid)
• Salary Range: $27.55 - $40.91 per hour, based on a step schedule and qualifications
• Work Hours: 6am - 2:30pm
• Background Check: Required
• Work Modality: Primarily performed at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, 1 Cyclotron Road, Berkeley, CA
• Relocation: Not eligible
• Work Authorization: Eligible to work in the U.S.
