Grounds Worker

About the role
This position is part of Campus Operations, a major unit within the Administration and Finance Division of ECU, responsible for supporting all university real property, including buildings, infrastructure, and grounds across the Main, Health Sciences, West Research Campuses, and satellite locations.
Responsibilities
- Mowing, blowing, edging, planting, pruning, spraying, weeding, and other duties to maintain turf, shrubs, trees, and flowers
- Trash pickup and removal
- Irrigation installation and maintenance
- Street and parking lot maintenance
- Storm drain maintenance
- Snow and ice removal
Requirements
- Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work
- Valid NC Driver’s License
Qualifications
- Preferred experience with a professional landscaping firm, nursery, or medium-to-large grounds maintenance operation
- Experience operating grounds-related equipment such as riding lawn mowers, backhoes, forklifts, and skid steers
- Pesticide license preferred
Pay
$33,540 - $41,729 per year (anticipated hiring range: $33,540)
Schedule
Full-time, Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
