Grounds Technician Part Time Days $16-$24/hr.

About the role

Responsible for overall care of the grounds and maintenance of the gardens and golf course on all entities and properties at Grand Casino. (Golf Course duties only for Hinckley Property).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, plant, and maintain all plant beds within the complex and outlying properties.
• Utilize maintenance techniques, including identifying and treating plants for pests and diseases.
• Operate company vehicles and maintenance equipment.
• Remove trash and debris on grounds complex on a daily basis.
• Perform hand shoveling as snow conditions demand.
• Ensure use of all cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Maintain strict adherence to all OSHA safety rules and ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Operate mowers for mowing golf turf and casino lawns, including equipment up to 80 horsepower with up to seven deck or reel cutting units.
• Maintain consistent complex mowing practices.
• Operate irrigation systems, fertilizer spreaders, ground aerators, debris blowers, string trimmers, utility carts, and loaders.
• Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment daily; ensure equipment cooling systems are working and report problems immediately.
• Return all equipment to the designated location.
• Set golf tee markers daily; maintain ball washers; replace tee towels and flags as needed; sand and seed tee and drop area divots.
• Hand water and fertilize tees, greens, and fairways as directed.
• Mark the course for cart control weekly; move cart control barriers and replace worn or lost ropes and signs; mark hazard and drop areas.

Requirements

• One (1) year commercial experience in landscaping, lawn care, golf grounds, maintenance, and snow removal.
• Valid MN Driver’s License and able to be insured under company policy.
• Experience in equipment operation preferred.
• Working knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools.
