Grounds Technician

TTI Consumer Power Tools, Inc. has an opening in Anderson, SC for a Grounds Technician supporting a large-scale distribution-manufacturing campus.

Responsibilities

• Turf Maintenance: Mowing, Trimming, Edging
• Plant Maintenance: Shrub Pruning, Tree Trimming, Seasonal Cut-back
• Bed Maintenance: Weed Pulling/Spraying, Mulch Installation
• Hardscape Maintenance: Debris/Trash Removal from Sidewalks, Parking Lots, Roadways, etc.
• Landscape Installation Projects: Renovations including Sod Install, Planting, etc.
• Inclement Weather Maintenance: Storm Debris Removal, Snow/Ice Preparations/Clean-up
• Equipment Maintenance: Changing/Charging Batteries, Changing/Sharpening Blades, Checking/Plugging Tires, Assisting in Changing Engine Oils/Fluids
• Cleaning/Washing Equipment: Cleaning/Organizing equipment/tools, Shop/Truck Maintenance
• Occasionally aid the operations team as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• One year of experience operating on a crew of groundskeepers, landscape technicians, or equivalent
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public
• Experience using tools and motorized equipment, including tractors, pickup trucks, and a variety of common grounds maintenance equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in South Carolina with an acceptable driving record
• Knowledge of principles, materials, and methods of grounds maintenance and repair
• Understanding of safety and accident prevention practices
• Familiarity with horticulture and landscape maintenance techniques

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Repetitive motion
• Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing ladders
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs; team lifts for weights over 50 lbs
• Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
• Able to work in various temperature conditions

Internal Qualifications

• No final warnings
• No more than 6 attendance points
• Efficiency and Quality goals met for the previous 3 months
• Must be in current role for 6+ months
• Must meet all job description requirements
