Grounds Tech II

Description Job Overview: 6am-2:30pm (Shift subject to change based on business needs) The Grounds Technician II performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures as directed on grounds, turf grass, pavements, walkways, amphitheater, ponds, swimming pools and fountains. Duties and Responsibilities: Completes all work outdoors and some tasks may be performed regardless of weather conditionsCompletes all work while exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust, tobacco smoke and foul odorsMaintains, cleans and dresses the facility and grounds including pools, building’s exterior, outside structures and parkway areasApplies chemicals, as directed to clarify and sanitize swimming pools, brushes and cleans all pool surfacesWork is characterized by the necessity for considerable physical exertion, by close daily contact with unpleasant materialsWork involves heavy lifting and exposure to fumes, chemicals and other noxious odors, machinery with moving parts and noiseOther duties and responsibilities as assigned Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying) High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employmentMust be twenty-one (21) years of age or olderThree (3) years of Commercial or Municipal grounds maintenance and/or landscaping experience- requiredMust hold one (1) of the three (3) following credentials granted by the State of Alabama- requiredSetting of Landscape Plants- (SLP) State of Alabama licenseOrnamental Turf and Pest Control - (OTPC/OTPS)Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT/CLIA/CGIA/CIC/CID/CLIWM)Landscape Horticulturist - (LD) Landscape designOR other state’s certification of equivalence to Alabama’s. Candidate will be required to obtain Al certification within six (6) months of hire dateMust have good hearing and eyesightMust have ability to read, write and understand EnglishWilling to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidaysWilling to travel and participate in training as recommended or requiredMust have a valid and current State Driver’s License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as requiredMust have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) is required for this positionMust have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN PREFERENCE IN HIRING POLICY SHALL BE ADHERED TO AT ALL TIMES Complaints about the recruitment or selection process for employment should be directed in writing to office of the President and CEO of Wind Creek Hospitality.
