About the role

The Grounds, Facility, Equipment, Carpentry Associate is responsible for maintaining the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current federal, state and local standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Maintenance in maintaining the facility in good repair, perform and assist in routine plumbing, plaster, painting, lighting, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical maintenance and repairs of the facility, equipment, and HVAC systems.
  • Perform duties as directed or required in compliance with established Universal Precautions, fire, safety, infection control, isolation, and sanitation procedures.
  • Promptly report accidents, incidents, unsafe, and hazardous conditions, and defective equipment to the Director of Maintenance.
  • Ensure that work areas are clean, free of hazardous conditions, and that all tools and supplies are properly stored to ensure compliance with established regulations and procedures.
  • Snow Removal, Salting, plowing in inclement weather.
  • Present a positive endorsement of Elm Terrace Gardens, its mission, programs, policies, procedures, and administration to Elm Terrace Gardens residents, staff, visitors, and other constituencies at all times.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Completion of high school education or otherwise show ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
  • Must speak and understand English.
  • Must possess an agreeable and positive attitude toward the residents.
  • Must have Building Maintenance Trade School training or two years’ experience in building maintenance.
  • HVAC Certification Type 1 and 2 is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to complete assigned tasks unsupervised.
