Grounds Crew - (Operations and Athletic Crew)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of exterior grounds features including playground equipment and signs
• Maintain exterior wooden and metal structures
• Assist with concrete pours and repairs
• Remove snow throughout the District's 30 campuses
• Maintain safe and aesthetically pleasing campuses
• Work according to specifications and in a timely manner to avoid possible injuries

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in grounds maintenance preferred
• Knowledge of playground equipment installation preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to a diverse work force
• Proficient in the use of all hand tools and power related equipment
• Able to operate various pieces of equipment such as skid steer, dump truck, back hoe, chain saw, brush chipper, concrete saw, sealer truck, jack hammer, roller, hot tar machine, fork lift, pressure washer, concrete mixer, mower, string trimmer, and more
• Possess and maintain minimum Missouri Class E driver's license or equivalent
• Able to work in all weather conditions and on all types of terrain
• Able to communicate both verbally and in writing, follow verbal and written instructions, read, learn and respond to a variety of subjects related to this position
• Physically capable of moving throughout the District buildings and campuses; must be able to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis, stand or walk for long periods of time, shovel snow and ice
