Groundperson | Line Clearance

Locations: Dayton, OH and surrounding areas (Xenia, Beavercreek, Fairborn). Work site: on-site.

About the role

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Groundperson to support Utility Line Clearance crews in the Dayton, Ohio region.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for crew members by controlling lowering ropes, limbs, and personnel from aloft
• Supply tools for tree workers
• Control road and sidewalk traffic using warning devices and other methods
• Cut, chip, and load brush and wood, and ensure proper job site cleanup

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred and may be required depending on job
• Relevant certificates and licenses (e.g., pesticide license if required by state law, herbicide license a plus)
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain

Pay

Hourly pay rate between $18.00 - $20.00, based on line clearance/industry experience and CDL status.
