Ground Transportation Maintenance Porter

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily cleanliness (e.g., sweep and mop floors, empty trash, clean surfaces) of all facilities, including:
  • Primary and secondary building structures at holding lot
  • Holding lot restrooms (clean, service, and disinfect)
  • Driver rest area and offices
  • Holding lot parking, queuing, and circulation areas
• Maintain grounds, including:
  • Clearing snow
  • Trimming shrubbery and grass
  • Sanding or salting during inclement weather
• Identify minor facility repairs, including fixture and bulb replacements
• Advise Supervisor of any facility maintenance and safety-related issues
• Occasionally perform cleaning and maintenance services at Terminal booth areas
• Courteously assist fellow workers and customers
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or a combination of experience and education
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record (if required to drive a company vehicle or on company business)
• Availability to work special shifts, including 3rd shift and/or weekends, depending on location needs
• Ability to:
  • Speak clearly, listen, and respond to questions
  • Write clearly and read/interpret written information
  • Maintain a positive attitude and respond to service requests
  • Adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected events
  • Exhibit sound and accurate judgment under pressure
  • Read, write, and interpret English, including Material Handling Data Sheets

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to use hands and fingers and communicate with customers and coworkers
• Work outside in varying weather conditions (cold, rainy, snowy, harsh, hot, humid)
• Frequently required to:
  • Sit, reach with hands and arms, stand, or walk for long periods (up to 8 hours)
  • Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, stretch, and bend
• Lift and move 50 pounds or more regularly
• Move quickly and work with dust, chemicals, or other irritants
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus

$15.45 per hour
