About the role
How do you get items to customers quickly, cost-effectively, and—most importantly—safely, in less than an hour? And how do you do it in a way that can scale? Our teams of scientists, engineers, aerospace professionals, and futurists have been working to deliver on this vision. Prime Air is revolutionizing delivery services through innovative drone technology. We're seeking a Ground Handler to support our drone delivery operations through ground support activities, basic operational tasks, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support daily drone operations by handling and organizing equipment, including batteries and related components
- Monitor airspace in the area of operations and report any potential hazards or obstacles
- Assist with basic warehouse tasks including inventory management and package preparation
- Execute standard operating procedures while maintaining safety and compliance standards
- Engage positively with community members and address basic inquiries about our operations
- Document and report operational activities using standard templates and tools
Requirements
- Ability to carry/lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
- Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Ability to work in an environment with variable noise levels and temperatures, including refrigerated spaces and outdoor conditions
- Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- May require travel up to 25% of the time
- Subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing if conducting safety-sensitive functions as defined by the FAA
- Placement contingent on Amazon’s ability to obtain an export control license on your behalf, if required
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of basic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Strong attention to safety and ability to follow detailed procedures
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Knowledge of aviation terminology and regulations
- Experience in warehouse or logistics
- Experience in aviation, aerospace, or drone operations

Pay
The starting pay for this position includes the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential, depending on the shift selected. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
